…ME
I’m Matthew Ian*, a poet since I wrote my first poem on an old electronic typewriter my dad gave to me, when I was 7 years old. My father, LeRoy Webb, was a poet and writer, and developed (with my help) one of the earlier poetry ezines on the Internet, back in 1994, called Pogonip. I once printed out all the content on Pogonip onto a little more than 500 pages. All that content is gone now, lost over the years, as is my father, who passed nearly 20 years ago.

I started collecting my poetry into this collection, which has been called Seasons of the Mind for over 30 years. I started putting it together after I wrote my 500th poem. I will be slowly adding many (but not all 500) poems to the site, as I rewrite them with a more mature perspective. I hope you will like some of them.
This site is a quiet space—no comments, no noise. Just poetry.
- Matthew Ian is my pen name when I am writing poetry and fiction. My real name is Michael Webb, same as my father’s. I also write other types of articles and more under a few other pen names, including Jackson Hyatt.
